1. About us and these terms
1.1 These terms govern your use of the Founders Funding Summit website at www.foundersfundingsummit.com, our online platform, and any event we run (together, our Services). By using our Services, booking an Event or attending one, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use our Services.
1.2 Our Services are run by Medigi Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 11953188, with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, London, WC2H 9JQ (MeDigi, we, us, our). You can contact us at helpdesk@foundersfundingsummit.com.
1.3 These terms work alongside our Privacy Policy, our Code of Conduct and any ticket or booking terms shown when you book. If ticket terms conflict with these terms, the ticket terms apply to that booking.
1.4 Please read section 5 carefully. It explains how we photograph and film our Events and use names, images and videos in our marketing, and how you can opt out.
2. Key definitions
- Business User: anyone using our Services for the purposes of their trade, business, craft or profession, including founders, investors, sponsors and speakers acting for a company.
- Consumer: an individual using our Services wholly or mainly outside their trade, business, craft or profession.
- Event: any conference, summit, workshop, pitch session, webinar, meet-up or livestream organised or hosted by MeDigi.
- Event Media: photographs, video, audio, livestreams and recordings made at or of an Event by us or on our behalf.
- Likeness: your image, voice, name, job title, company name and logo, and words you speak or present at an Event.
- Marketing Purposes: promoting MeDigi, our Events and our Services, as described in section 5.3.
- Your Content: anything you submit through our Services or give us for an Event, including profiles, pitch decks, slides, comments, photos and videos.
- you, your: the person using our Services and, where you act for an organisation, that organisation too.
3. Using our Services and accounts
3.1 You must be 18 or over to create an account, apply for a ticket or book an Event. If you act for an organisation, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms for it.
3.2 Give accurate, up-to-date information and keep your login details secure. Tell us at once at helpdesk@foundersfundingsummit.com if you think someone has used your account without permission. You are responsible for activity on your account unless it results from our failure to keep our systems reasonably secure.
3.3 We aim to keep our Services available and secure, but we cannot promise they will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or update them, for example to improve features, meet legal requirements or fix security issues. If a change materially affects a paid Event you have booked, section 6.4 applies.
4. Your Content and the licence you give us
4.1 You keep ownership. You own Your Content. These terms do not transfer your copyright or other rights to us.
4.2 Licence to MeDigi. You grant MeDigi a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, adapt, edit, translate, publish, display and distribute Your Content. We may use it to run and improve our Services and for Marketing Purposes. We may sub-license these rights to our group companies, service providers, and Event partners and sponsors working with us, only for those purposes.
4.3 How long it lasts. The licence lasts while Your Content is on our Services and for a reasonable period after you remove it. It continues indefinitely for material already printed, broadcast, archived or published before removal, because we cannot recall it.
4.4 Moral rights. To the extent the law allows, you waive, and agree not to assert against MeDigi or those we license, your moral rights under Chapter IV of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 for uses permitted by these terms. We will credit you where reasonably practicable.
4.5 Your promises. You confirm that you own Your Content or have every permission needed to grant this licence, including from anyone who appears in it or created it, and that it complies with section 7.
4.6 Moderation. We may review, edit for length or format, or remove any content that breaches these terms or the law, or that we reasonably believe puts users or MeDigi at risk. Keep your own copies: we do not guarantee to store Your Content.
5. Photography, filming and marketing use of names and likeness
5.1 What we capture. Our Events are photographed, filmed, recorded and sometimes livestreamed. Signs at the venue, our website and our ticket approval emails will say so. If you attend, you may appear in Event Media, including in crowd shots, networking areas and on stage.
5.2 Permission you give MeDigi. By attending an Event, and subject to your rights in 5.5, you grant MeDigi a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive permission to:
- photograph, film, record and livestream you at the Event;
- edit, crop, caption and combine that Event Media with other material, provided we do not distort what you said or present you in a misleading or demeaning way; and
- use Event Media showing you, together with your Likeness, for Marketing Purposes in any media, now known or developed later.
5.3 Marketing Purposes means promoting MeDigi, our Events and our Services through our websites, social media, email newsletters, press releases, brochures, event programmes, sponsor and partner reports, pitch and funding presentations, video content, and advertising for future Events, including paid social media advertising.
5.4 Speakers and panellists. If you speak or sit on a panel, you also permit us to publish the full or edited recording of your session and to quote you. You license your slides and session materials under section 4.2. Tell us in writing before the Event if any slide is confidential and we will not publish it.
5.5 Your data protection rights and how to opt out. Images and recordings that identify you are personal data. We rely on our legitimate interests in promoting our Events (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)), not on your consent, for general Event Media. You can object at any time:
- before the Event, by saying so in your ticket application, replying to your approval or ticket email, or emailing helpdesk@foundersfundingsummit.com;
- at the Event, by wearing the no-photography lanyard available at registration or telling the photographer; or
- afterwards, by emailing helpdesk@foundersfundingsummit.com with the image or video concerned.
Once you object, we will stop using that Event Media in new marketing. We will remove or blur you on channels we control within 30 days where reasonably practicable. We cannot recall materials already printed or distributed, or content already shared by others, and wide crowd shots where you are not the focus may remain. Our Privacy Policy explains your other rights, including your right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
5.6 When we will ask you separately. We will get your separate, explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time, before we:
- publish a testimonial, review or quote attributed to you outside the recording of your session (testimonials will always be genuine, as the CAP Code and the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 require);
- feature you as the main subject of a paid advertisement or a case study;
- use any image or recording of a person under 18; or
- publish anything revealing health information, such as a founder or patient describing a medical condition.
5.7 No endorsement without agreement. We will not use your Likeness to suggest that you personally endorse a product, sponsor or service unless you have agreed in writing.
5.8 Ownership and no payment. MeDigi, or the photographer or filmmaker we engage, owns the copyright in Event Media. No fee, royalty or other payment is due to you for any use under this section.
5.9 Photos and videos you take. You may take photos for personal and business networking use. Do not film sessions marked confidential, and respect anyone who asks not to be photographed. If you send us your own photos or videos, section 4 applies and you confirm that the people shown agreed to our use.
5.10 Events run by others. This section covers MeDigi Events only. We take no rights in media from events organised by third parties, even if we list them.
6. Events
6.1 Applying and booking. Tickets are sold by application, so that each Event has a balanced mix of founders at different stages and investors. It works like this:
- Application. You register your interest through our website. This is not a booking and you pay nothing at this stage. We may accept or decline any application at our discretion.
- Approval. If your application is approved, we email you a payment link. The approval email is an invitation to book. It does not confirm a booking or reserve a place until you pay.
- Confirmation. Your booking is confirmed, and a contract between you and MeDigi is formed, when your payment through our Shopify checkout succeeds and Shopify emails you a receipt.
- Your ticket. We then email your ticket to the address you gave us.
We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged on tickets. We show all mandatory fees upfront, as the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 requires. Tickets are personal unless these terms or the ticket terms allow transfer. Attendees must be 18 or over on the day of the Event; we cannot admit anyone under 18.
6.2 Cancellation by you. Tickets are non-refundable if you cancel, but you may transfer your ticket to another attendee by emailing helpdesk@foundersfundingsummit.com with their details at least 24 hours before the Event. Because tickets are for an event on a specific date, the 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 does not apply. Future Founders and Founders tickets include immediate access to the full eBook library (see section 6.11), so they are non-refundable if you cancel, cannot attend or choose not to attend. This does not affect your rights under sections 6.3 and 6.4.
6.3 Cancellation by us. If we cancel an Event, or end your paid booking for any reason other than your own breach of these terms (see sections 6.5 and 12.2):
- Future Founders and Founders tickets: you keep your eBook library access for its full 12 months, and your booking moves to the rescheduled Event or, if we ended your booking only, to our next Event. If no such Event takes place within 12 months of the original Event date, we will refund the full ticket price to your original payment method within 14 days of the end of that 12-month period.
- All other tickets: we will refund the full ticket price to your original payment method within 14 days.
We are not responsible for travel or accommodation costs you incur.
6.4 Changes by us. We may change speakers, session timings, content, sponsors or partners without this counting as a material change. If we materially change the date, venue or format (for example, from in-person to online) of a paid Event, we will tell you promptly by email. You may then, by replying within 14 days of our email (or before the Event, if sooner):
- keep your booking for the changed Event;
- transfer your ticket to another attendee; or
- for Future Founders and Founders tickets, move your booking to our next Event, keeping your eBook library access, with a full refund under section 6.3(a) if no such Event takes place within 12 months of the original Event date; or, for all other tickets, cancel your booking and receive a full refund of the ticket price within 14 days.
If you do not reply, your booking will stay in place for the changed Event.
6.5 Conduct. You must follow our Code of Conduct, venue rules and reasonable instructions from staff. We may refuse entry or remove you if you harass anyone, act unsafely, are seriously intoxicated or breach these terms. No refund is due if we remove you for your own breach.
6.6 Safety and belongings. Please take reasonable care of yourself and others. We are not responsible for loss of or damage to personal belongings, unless caused by our negligence. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
6.7 Accessibility. Tell us about any access needs in your application or before the Event and we will make reasonable adjustments in line with the Equality Act 2010.
6.8 Pitching and investor introductions. Founders are responsible for their pitches and for complying with the financial promotion restriction in section 21 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000.
MeDigi does not approve financial promotions, is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority and does not arrange or advise on investments. Any deal is between founders and investors alone.
6.9 Confidentiality. Sessions are not confidential unless we say so in writing. Do not share information at an Event that you need kept secret. We do not sign non-disclosure agreements for any session or conversation at our Events.
6.10 Unofficial events. If you organise a meet-up connected with MeDigi, do not suggest that we run, sponsor or endorse it without our written agreement.
6.11 eBooks and library access. eBooks cost £25 each and require a free, email-confirmed account to buy. Individually purchased eBooks are yours to keep; eligible Future Founders and Founders tickets include 12 months of full-library download access. Purchases and use of the library are governed by The Founders' Library: Terms and Conditions, including the immediate-supply cancellation acknowledgement, consumer remedies, personalised copies and permitted business sharing. Those library terms take precedence for eBooks and library access.
7. Acceptable use, AI and scraping
7.1 You must not use our Services, or help anyone else use them, to:
- break any law, or post content that is false, defamatory, obscene, hateful, harassing or harmful to children;
- infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or confidentiality;
- impersonate anyone or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or organisation;
- send spam, unsolicited bulk messages or unapproved advertising, or harvest other users' contact details;
- scrape, data-mine or copy our Services or other users' content by bots or automated tools, including to train AI models, except as the law expressly permits;
- introduce viruses or harmful code, gain unauthorised access, or interfere with our security or systems;
- copy, adapt or reverse-engineer our software, except as the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 permits; or
- build a competing service using our Services or content.
7.2 AI features. Where we offer AI tools, only input the information each feature needs. Outputs can be wrong: check them before relying on them. Do not use them as the sole basis for decisions about investment, employment, credit or medical treatment.
7.3 Reporting. Report illegal or harmful content to helpdesk@foundersfundingsummit.com. We will review reports promptly and act where appropriate, including under the Online Safety Act 2023 where it applies to our Services.
8. Our intellectual property
8.1 MeDigi and its licensors own all rights in our Services, Events and our content, including the MeDigi name and logo, website design, text, graphics, Event Media and software, across all of our Events.
8.2 You may view, download and print pages for your own personal or internal business use. You must not otherwise copy, sell, adapt or republish our content, or use our name or logo, without our written permission. Do not remove copyright or trade mark notices.
9. Privacy, data protection and marketing communications
9.1 MeDigi is the controller of personal data we collect through our Services and Events. We process it under the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), each as amended, including by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, as explained in our Privacy Policy. Our ICO registration number is ZC239977.
9.2 Marketing emails. We send marketing emails only if you opt in, or if you have booked with us before and did not opt out of similar marketing (the soft opt-in under regulation 22 of PECR). Every message has an unsubscribe link. You will still receive service messages about your application, account and bookings.
9.3 Sponsors. We share your contact details with sponsors, including those hosting Showcase Booths, only if you choose to, for example by letting them scan your badge at the Event or opting in when you apply or book. If you opt in to the pre-event delegate directory, other attendees can see your name, organisation, stage and sector; you can opt out at any time.
9.4 Cookies. In line with regulation 6 of PECR, we only set strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies (for your cookie choice, basket, login and spam protection) without asking. Analytics (Google Analytics and our own visitor statistics) and marketing (Meta Pixel) cookies are set only if you consent through our cookie banner. You can reject them as easily as accept them, and change or withdraw your choice at any time via "Cookie Settings" in the footer. Section 5 of our Privacy Policy lists every cookie we use, its purpose, the data it collects and how long it lasts.
9.5 Spam protection. Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA to check that submissions come from real people. Google's Privacy Policy and Terms apply to that check.
10. Feedback, third parties and no professional advice
10.1 Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them freely without paying you or keeping them confidential. Do not send us anything you want to keep confidential or that belongs to someone else.
10.2 Third parties. Our Services may link to or list third-party websites, sponsors, services and events. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, products or conduct. Their own terms and privacy policies apply. Payments are processed by Shopify and its payment partners, whose own terms also apply to your payment.
10.3 No professional advice. Content on our Services and at our Events, including from speakers, mentors and sponsors, is general information only. It is not legal, financial, investment, tax, regulatory or medical advice. Sector-specific regulatory information, for example on MHRA registration for HealthTech or export rules for defence technology, is no substitute for advice on your product. Take independent professional advice before acting on it.
11. Our liability to you
11.1 What we never exclude. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. This includes your statutory rights as a Consumer.
11.2 If you are a Consumer. We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable. Our free website is for personal use: we are not liable to Consumers for business losses arising from it. If digital content we supply damages your device or data and we failed to use reasonable care and skill, we will repair the damage or pay you compensation, as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires.
11.3 If you are a Business User. To the extent the law allows, including the reasonableness test in the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977:
- we exclude all implied conditions, warranties and terms;
- we are not liable for loss of profits, revenue, business, opportunity, investment, goodwill or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss; and
- our total liability arising from these terms and our Services is limited to the greater of £100 or the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11.4 Indemnity (Business Users only). If you are a Business User, you will compensate MeDigi for reasonable losses and legal costs arising from any third-party claim caused by Your Content or your breach of these terms. We will tell you promptly about any such claim.
12. Suspension, termination, complaints and IP notices
12.1 Ending by you. You may stop using our Services at any time. To close your account, email helpdesk@foundersfundingsummit.com. Closing your account does not cancel a paid booking; section 6.2 applies to that.
12.2 Ending by us. We may suspend or close your account, or cancel a booking, if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect users or our systems. We may also close accounts on at least 30 days' notice if we discontinue a Service. If we cancel a paid booking because of your serious or repeated breach, no refund is due. If we cancel a paid booking for any other reason, section 6.3 applies.
12.3 What survives. Sections 4, 5, 8, 10, 11, 12 and 13 continue after these terms end, including permissions for Event Media already captured, subject to your right to object in section 5.5.
12.4 Complaints. Send complaints to helpdesk@foundersfundingsummit.com. We aim to respond within 10 working days.
12.5 Intellectual property notices. If you think content on our Services infringes your rights, email helpdesk@foundersfundingsummit.com with your contact details, the work concerned, where the content appears and why it infringes. We will review and, where appropriate, remove it and tell the person who posted it. They may reply with reasons why it should be restored. We may close the accounts of repeat infringers. This process follows the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002.
13. Changes, governing law and general
13.1 Changes to these terms. We may update these terms to reflect changes in law, our Services or how we run Events. We will email account holders and anyone with a confirmed booking about material changes at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not accept them, you may close your account before they apply. Changes will not reduce your rights for a booking already confirmed. Minor changes, such as corrections, take effect when published.
13.2 Governing law and courts. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a Consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts. Consumers keep any mandatory protections of the country where they live.
13.3 Sanctions. You confirm you are not a designated person under the Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Act 2018 or any UK sanctions regulations and are not acting for one.
13.4 Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations to another organisation, such as a buyer of our business. If you are a Consumer, we will tell you and it will not reduce your rights. You may not transfer your rights without our written consent, except for transferring a ticket under section 6.2 or 6.4.
13.5 Third-party rights. No one else may enforce these terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999, except that our group companies, and sponsors and partners acting for us, may rely on section 5.
13.6 Entire agreement. These terms, with the documents in section 1.3, are the whole agreement between you and us about our Services. Nothing in this clause limits liability for fraudulent misrepresentation.
13.7 Other terms. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest remains in force. If we delay enforcing these terms, we can still enforce them later. These terms are in English only.
